It’s been a while since I’ve blogged and I seriously have about a year and half worths of wedding photos to catch up on. Maybe if I set a goal of at least blogging up to just a year behind, I would be happy!
Today’s wedding is one from just last fall, just north of Toronto at Madsen’s Greenhouse. This venue has been a favourite of mine, having shot there several times before (of course have not blogged any of those) because of it’s versatile space, especially when the weather can be unpredictable! Definitely a good choice for a fall or spring wedding when it can be rainy, sunny and cold all at the same time. Thankfully for M & J’s wedding last fall, the weather was perfect. It wasn’t cold or wet, allowing us to do photos both outside Madsen’s Greenhouse and inside. I absolutely love the glow of light you get from photographing inside greenhouses. The couple had beautiful light on their faces during the ceremony and all the indoor greenery was perfect for some couple portraits as well!
M & J are a perfect match. And I know I say that all the time with couples but together, their love is caring, loving and quiet. J is the sweetest, knows exactly how to make her laugh and keeps her calm and even from the few times we met with each other, it is ever so evident. One of my favourite moments of the day was J getting emotional watching from the side while I took portraits of M alone. This was just after they got married and it was just the sweetest thing to see something so genuine and real. Naturally, I let them comfort each other and hug it out.
Their wedding was full of DIY touches – including all the flowers! M is so talented and made all the bouquets and flower crowns for all the bridesmaids and for the cutest little flower girl. Personal touches like that make the day so much more special!
Overall, such a good day full of emotions, genuine speeches from longtime childhood friends and just the loveliest coming together of two families.
