My Style & approach to weddings

 

Shooting weddings with a documentary approach means that I try to be as unobtrusive as possible, allowing things to happen and the story to unfold. I look for the perfect light while waiting for the quiet, the loud and all the real moments that happen throughout the day. I put my heart forth in everything I do. All my heart meaning that I am crying and laughing with you, all these emotions – I live to capture them one frame at a time. I’m always looking for that hint of a smile, that roar of a cheer and everything in between. Throughout the day, I love blending in with your guests and being right in the action.

 

I love being able to connect with and to know the people I work with. We work on fostering a relationship and connection so that you can be yourselves, whatever that may be (nothing is off limits!). The way you interact, fall and fit into each other’s arms is different from any other couple and unique to you. I don’t believe in (awkward) static posing (aside from family portraits!) but rather in the slow dancing, soft caresses and fleeting glances. The trust between us helps me to capture all those special little moments. Those in-between and sometimes imperfect moments are more often than not, the best moments. There is nothing more real than allowing you to be yourselves – capturing you and your love in this season of life so that you can remember and relive the same feelings looking back at the images.

THE EXPERIENCE 

The moment we start chatting, I’m invested. The experience does not begin on the wedding day but way before that! Tell me about everything, I want to hear it all! Tell me what you’re excited about, what you’re slightly not so excited about and everything in between! Tell me about how stoked you are to devour your wedding food, or how excited you are to see your family flying from overseas, or even how special your first dance song is to you two – so that I can be there with my camera and be as invested as you are in it.

Through it all (yes even before the day of), I’m there to help and guide you so that we can make the day run smoothly. Need vendor recommendations? Need timeline suggestions? Need a quiet moment without 20 people in your getting ready space? Need an extra hand to carry your veil/dress/flowers/phone/keys? I’ll take care of it. Trust me to take care of you (and your friends and family!) and I promise you I will!

It can be a daunting thing to be photographed, let alone on one of the most important and special days of your lives! I’m there so that you can be at ease and comfortable – I want to take care of you! Forget about your worries, about what to do with your hands or whether to do one thing or another. Be in the moment, love on each other and be loved by everyone else. Take the time to soak it all in and take in the moments with your new husband/wife, friends and family! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff!
