My excitement with being able to spend some time on the East Coast each year comes along with the fact that the ocean and nature is always just a short drive away! There are no longer excuses to not be out there on a hike and adventure because within less than half an hour – you can be right by the ocean, a bay or a forest. I’m so glad I have these opportunities close by, especially as someone who works from home – it can be so easy to get cabin fever! My dog and our proximity to amazing nature has definitely allowed me to fight that on a regular basis (showers are optional right?!). 

I recently spent a month in Saint John and I was so blown away with the surroundings. Just outside the Saint John uptown core, there would be cliffs and rows and rows of evergreen – to top that off, there were a few snowfalls that left fluffy white slow on all the trees! 

This Saint John engagement session with Caroline (she has an amazing food blog featuring sugar-free recipes at Unsweetened Caroline) and Shaun was done at Irving Nature Park, again just a mere 20 mins away from where we stayed (coincidentally down the street from Caro & Shaun. They took me around their favourite hiking spots in the park and we ended the night down by the water where it was low tide, allowing us to enjoy the beach all to ourselves. What I love about these two is their adventurous and easy-going spirit, not to mention their ability to look so cute and happy in the freezing cold! In their free time – you can find them on local trails and Shaun even proposed during a hike atop a canyon! I honestly could not think of anything more perfect than that!
